Hitting Home

Written by Hannah Gowers

Directed by Jessica Hartley

The company worked very closely alongside the Basildon Women's Aid in developing a new piece of drama which tackled the often taboo subject of Domestic Abuse.  The play looked closely at a families recovery from an abusive father and husband.

Based on the popular Grand Theft Auto games, the son David blurs the line between reality and fantasy.  The play employs a series of sequences taken from the game to highlight the violence.

HENs was funded by the Crime and Disorder Partnership, Brentwood Council and toured secondary schools in the Essex area.  It received great acclaim and is now in the process of developing a second tour.
