Are You In-Vince-Able?

Are you In-Vince-Able ?

A play with gadgets, cars, supermarket sweep, bicycles, zebra crossings and the green cross code. The future crosses the road in “Are You In-Vince-Able?”.

Vince is an MI5 agent from the future, sent back in time to save a girl called Emerald Green. Emerald is a bully, she makes fun of her best friend Scarlet who uses roads safely. While Scarlet is careful, Emerald enjoys making trouble and disregards all road safety advise as she thinks she is invincible, but unbeknown to her she is soon to be involved in a road accident, and it’s up to Vince to stop her getting hurt.

As Emerald makes the journey to school Vince uses his gadgets from the future to save her. He also has a secret weapon, the audience who get involved in role plays, quizzes and drawing exercises to choose safe options for Emerald. But there is a twist as the story nears its end, as Scarlet stops on a crossing to do up her shoelace she becomes involved in a road accident. Vince turns back time and it is up to the audience to teach Emerald and Scarlet the green cross code to save both girls and get them to school unharmed.

This play does not only explore the issues surrounding road safety but also the attitudes and behaviour children should adopt when on or near a road, from peer pressure to identifying people who can help them cross. “Are You In-Vince-Able?” makes the children aware that they are vulnerable to traffic and need to use the green cross code to keep them and their friends safe.
